Morphing Phone?

morph-phone-operating-2.jpg

I’m doing some random surfing and I came across this new phone that Nokia is trying to develop.  Interesting.  It’s a morphing phone.  It’ll allow you to shift it from a standard cell phone shape to a wrist watch or whatever your mind desires.

The crazy thing is…it’s not even coming out this year…or any time soon at that.  Tapani Ryhanen, head of Nokia’s multimedia devices research, said the experiment is 11 years away from being complete.

“Our concept device is just to illustrate what this technology could mean, but most likely it is not exactly the device we will develop based on our work,” Ryhanen told Fortune.

I won’t be the first to buy one of these, as I’ll need all the kinks worked out of it, but I’ll more than likely get one.  The question is, will gas prices in the future stop me from buying them?

Coach Ponton’s Woes

Tis been a sad year for Rusty Ponton. He used to be one of the feared coaches in the SWAC, as his team would always have a endless pool of talent. Now, it appears as if his talent pool is diminished, as no player on the team has set themselves as an emerging star.

People have been calling for Ponton’s head. They want him fired. The Lady Tigers have yet to win a game in the SWAC, and the season is nearly over. The current windfall doesn’t appear to be ending, as the Lady Tigers have lost 23 straight. Their lone win came from the season opener, a 65-42 win over Texas College in the Lady Tiger Classic.

Even though the season appears bad, I’m still split on the whole issue myself, because one must remember, Coach P has indeed taken his team to the SWAC playoffs numerous times in consecutive seasons. Also, the Lady Tigers are generally near the top of the SWAC rankings. While this season is different, there isn’t much reason to fire Coach P besides a losing season.

What do you think?
